Medulloblastoma: Clinical presentation

چکیده
Medulloblastomas present generally a-specifically as a fast-evolving posterior fossa tumor. Medical literature is poor concerning clinical features of medulloblastomas and their potential significance. In the study, we reviewed 91 pediatric observations treated in Lille between 1997 2017. Clinical epidemiological variables were collected intercorrelated. They also compared with anatomical pathological findings, outcome, aim defining clinical-pathological entities. We group 32 cases ependymoma 130 cerebellar astrocytoma during same period. found that medulloblastomas, M/F ratio was higher diagnostic delay shorter than astrocytomas. Also, mean age older ependymomas. Intracranial hypertension constant; further observed altered general status common (16.5%) correlated metastatic delineated two clusters: “nodular” cluster, which associates young age, cerebello-pontine angle tumor, herniation, desmoplastic tumor predisposition syndrome; “metastatic” status, initial metastases, hydrocephalus, delay. Meticulous collection data at phase integral part oncological evaluation, search for genetic prognostic risk factors, then permits us to define

Medulloblastoma: clinical and biologic aspects.
Medulloblastoma is the most common childhood primary CNS tumor, and treatment approaches have evolved over the past three decades. The biologic underpinnings of medulloblastoma are not fully characterized, but recent work has identified new, important directions for research. Stratification of patients with medulloblastoma into risk groups is the backbone of most ongoing therapeutic studies. Pa...

minimal enhancement and showed no restriction on diffusion-weighted imaging ( fig. 2 ). With a provisional diagnosis of pilocytic astrocytoma in view of location and age, the child underwent a retrosigmoid craniotomy. Intraoperatively, the cyst-containing hemorrhagic fluid was drained. The solid component was firm and vascular with a poor plane at the pial surface near the VII-VIII nerve comple...
متن کاملNeurofibroma: Report of a rare clinical presentation
Neurofibroma is a tumor composed of a complex proliferation of neuromesenchymal tissue (Schwann cells, perineural cells, fibroblast, and mast cells). We report a 45-year-old female who had a slow growing, large, soft, pedunculated mass on her left lateral neck. A skin biopsy confirmed the diagnosis of neurofibroma.
متن کاملMedulloblastoma: Clinical Challenges and Emerging Molecular Discoveries
Medulloblastoma is the most common type of malignant brain tumor in children, responsible for 25% of pediatric brain cancers. Conventional treatment methods, which include surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, have improved overall survival rates for patients with medulloblastoma to over 50%. A majority of survivors, however, suffer serious long-term side effects, including developmental, ne...

She complained of mild dyspnoea on exertion for few weeks. Her past history was significant for hypertension and obesity (body mass index 39 kg/m). Physical examination, electrocardiography (EKG), ca...
